KOTA KINABALU: The Public
Services Commission Sabah (PSC) will focus on Transformation
Programme in improving the delivery system.
Sabah PSC
chairman Datuk Ismail Awang Besar said in this regard, the commission will work
hand-in-hand with the Federal Public Service Commission to improve the service.
“ Under the
programme several improvements have been made. For example, we have
decentralized the interview locations. Now, interviews for
vacancies that had been advertised, can be
conducted in districts like Tuaran and Kota Belud. Previously the
interviews were conducted in a centralized location only.
Also we are
zeroing in on ground level to find out their problems so that we
can assist them in overcoming those issues. We go from district to district to
meet them and discuss their difficulties. We also start going to various
departments. Recently we went to the State Agriculture department to find out
their problems,” Ismail said after paying a courtesy call to the Head of State
Tun Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Juhar bin Datuk Haji Mahiruddin at the State
Istana this morning.
He led a
ten member delegation to present the annual report of PSC Sabah to Juhar.
On the same
note, the Head of State also received a courtesy call from the ex- State
Attorney General, Datuk Anthony Roderick Fernandez whose term of service
expired on June 30.
Speaking to
the official media, Anthony said he was happy during his tenure
from June 1, 2006 till June 30 this year, he could assist in legal matters as
the state was challenged with many legal suits.
When asked
who would be his successor, he said he had no knowledge but added there
were many good practicing lawyers in the private sector who could be
considered for the state appointment.
Anthony
Roderick was in the private sector before he was roped in to be the State
Attorney General.-/PENERANGAN
